Roof Space Conversion

Job: To build a walk in robe into the roof space of a unit in Hamilton.

Description: This client had a small walk in robe with a door that lead into the roof space of his unit. The client was well aware of the wasted space beyond the door, however hadn’t given it a thought until he seen our ‘Roof Space Renovators’ advert in a local directory.

Our consultant worked with the client to design the robe. Roof Space Renovators’ engaged an engineer to provide us with comprehensive instructions regarding the renovation to ensure the structural integrity of the building remained.

In just a week the dark and dusty roof space was converted into a walk in robe fit for a queen. We installed sound screen insulation to reduce noise transfer and offer thermal insulation. We sheeted the room with gyprock and plastered the walls, so it was ready for painting. To invite natural light into the room, we replaced two cracked plastic skylights with Velux glass skylights. Our electrician installed down lights, power points and a smoke alarm. The client organised the painting and had carpet laid.

Needless to say the client and his wife were extremely happy with the end result.
