Job: To install two large Roof Windows into this home to allow more light and ventilation into the attic space.

The owners of this home were lucky enough to purchase it with an existing attic space above the double garage. This large attic, which is complete with a structural floor and gyprock walls is being used by the current owners as an office space and also for additional storage.

Roof Space Renovators were approached by the couple at a recent home show. Our company was exhibiting our product range of Attic Ladders and Roof Windows in combination with our Attic Conversion services.

For this couple, the lack of natural light and ventilation within their attic had been an ongoing issue. Therefore, when they came across our stand at the Brisbane Home Show, they were drawn to our Attic Roof Windows. Our attic windows present the ability to provide a single solution for both achieving natural light and providing additional ventilation. Perfect for a dark, enclosed attic space.

Whilst Roof Space Renovators’ supply and install both Velux and Fakro brands of attic windows, this couple were particularly interested in the Fakro brand. They loved the natural look of the internal timber frames and the solid feel to the product in general. They were particularly impressed with the 20 year warranty on the glass. Likewise. the dual action opening feature of the Fakro Roof Window was appealing. This feature allows the window to open outwards from the top and also spin on a centre pivot, allowing for easy cleaning from inside the room.

Our representative was shown photos of the attic space and the roof where the couple were hoping to have two large roof windows installed. Our representative couldn’t see a problem with the proposed installation, quoting the job on the spot. The couple accepted and without hesitation, paid a deposit and booked an installation date.

Within a couple of weeks, Roof Space Renovators were at their home as scheduled to install the two large (777x1400mm) dual action opening roof windows with blinds into their attic above the garage. Within two days of commencement, the windows had been installed and the internals had been completed ready for painting.

This couple were so happy with this initial service they received, subsequently they had us back to install an electric opening skylight with electric blind into their bathroom. They accompanied their payment for this installation with a note saying ‘Thanks guys, we are very happy. Maybe see you next year’.
