Client Testimonial Attic Ladder and Flooring Installation

Looking for a way to create as much storage space in the roof as possible, Bridget approached our team for the installation of storage flooring and an attic ladder in her Boondall home.

Over the course of one big day, we installed 30m2 of storage flooring and a timber performance pine attic ladder.

Attic Flooring

Our storage flooring is laid as per engineers specifications. It is rated to 75kg per m2 storage capacity plus foot traffic.

We lay battens in the opposite direction to the ceiling joists/trusses and lay our particleboard over this. The size of the battens depends on the build of the home.

Installing a Timber Performance Pine Attic Ladder

We installed a Performance Pine attic ladder into Bridget’s home. The Performance Pine is a mid-range attic ladder and was perfect because she didn’t need to access the attic regularly. It is more a once per month use attic ladder.

We also installed a hoop rail at the top of the ladder opening so they had something sturdy and safe to grab onto as they entered and exited their attic. A battery-operated sensor light was also installed so it flicked on as Bridget entered the attic, providing a small amount of light.

What to Take into Consideration for Attic Renovations

Bridget lives in a townhouse under a body corporate so she did require to seek permission prior to moving ahead with the attic ladder and attic storage installation.

This roof space also had some plumbing pipes obstructing the area where our attic ladder and flooring was to be installed. We have an in-house plumber we could have engaged to relocate the pipes; however this customer used their own plumber.
