The current owners of this 2 bedroom 1 bathroom Sunshine Coast home, were lucky enough to inherit an abundance of existing storage space located in the attic. At one point, the roof space of this unit was transformed into a tidy and functional storage room. It had been lined with gyprock walls and ceiling, and includes a small window and carpet floor coverings.

For years, these owners were accessing this storage room via a ladder they regularly retrieved from the shed. Leaning it up against the vertical opening in the wall to climb, and then storing it away again. This method for regularly accessing such a fantastic storage room within their home is clearly not practical nor safe. Especially considering they are often carrying bulky items up and down this ladder and like us all, the owners are not getting any younger.

Existing Ladder Used

Wanting a more permanent and safe solution, we were contacted to assist provide an alternative access solution for this couple. In addition to gaining safe and simple access with a quality purpose built attic ladder, this couple also believed they would benefit more from the storage room, due to the ease and ability to use and access it.

For this couple, the Columbus Junior with Vertical Adaptor was perfect. It provided them with the safe access they required in combination with ease of use, allowing them to make better use of the existing storage room. No more retrieving the ladder from the shed and lugging it through the house. Plus, it looks great and completes the room!
